Day Nursery Maesteg

Activities

Structured and purposeful play activities are planned within the nursery using 'Birth to Three Matters' and in line with the Foundation Phase; adopting the methods of 'Continuous' and 'Enhanced' provision. The 'Foundation Phase' profile is a curriculum based on first hand experiences and a holistic approach to learning. This is implemented within the pre-school play environment to certify all essential skills are gained before the transition to main stream school takes place.

Carefully planned activities throughout the age groups enable us to meet all developmental areas including the social and emotional needs, and well-being of younger children which provides the fundamental scaffolding for a positive aptitude to learning in the future.

Our comprehensive key worker system enables consistent development tracking to ensure children are reaching their full potentials, and seek early intervention if additional learning needs present themselves.

The setting has established relationships with outside professionals and is welcoming to the professionals using the setting as a base for their own developmental assessment needs on children within our care should referrals be necessary.

Clubs

Our exceptional purpose built facility allows us to offer the wrap around care that families require. We are therefore able to offer a Breakfast and After School club, with collection from, and delivery to all schools in the local area.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club operates from 7am where the children are provided with a nutritionally balanced breakfast before being taken to school at their specified times.

After School Club

After School Club operates from each individuals collection time from their classes until 6pm. The club house has a separate identity from the nursery, enabling the club children to access a wide range of suitable, age appropriate activities.

All club staff have a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with children between compulsory school age and 14 years. The setting has two company people carrier vehicles equipped with car seats suitable for all age range of children being transported. The setting prides itself in having excellent and well established relationships with all schools, with the safety and well-being of your children being at the forefront of our priorities.

We also operate a 'Great Oaks' Holiday club where school children up to the age of 14 can enjoy our comprehensive programme of stimulating activities and opportunities which incorporates all interests of the children in our care, making the school holidays enjoyable and fun. This is often where great friendships are also made!
